Why Easter is Perfect for Beach Huts

In the UK, Easter Sunday can fall on any date between 22 March and 25 April.  So each year this holiday season can take on a distinctly different feel. Sometimes it maybe seems like a late winter break and at others a fully fledged spring weekend that has all the hints of early summer. Read on to find out why we think Easter is Perfect for Beach Huts.

This year Easter weekend covers Friday, 7 April to Monday 10th, so it falls somewhere in between the two extremes. However, with average temperatures expected to be around 13 degrees centigrade during the daytime, it’ll be warm enough to throw open your beach hut doors!

Bank Holidays

Easter is a long four day weekend this Spring because both the Friday and the Monday are Bank Holidays. This is the name given to national public holidays in the United Kingdom and comes from the fact that banking institutions typically close for business on these days.

Much more than that, Bank Holidays have a very special history with British seaside resorts – so it’s no wonder that beach hut owners usually take them very seriously indeed.

April Skies

Of course spending time by the beach in April is quite a different proposition from during high summer, so that’s where having your own ‘home from home’ on the prom can really come in handy. Let’s face it, no matter how nice the weather turns out to be you won’t expect to be lazing on the beach for hours at a stretch. So what kind of activities can you plan to make the most of the long weekend?

Get Crackin’

Easter egg hunts are always fun for kids. With a bit of thought, this game can be adapted for all ages. Instead of leaving clues in the traditional way, depending on how tech savvy you are, you could always print off QR codes and leave them on the trail instead!

A good old barbeque is always a great idea if there is a bit of a chill in the air.  However, if you’re having guests remember to cater for dietary requirements – the best and most cost effective way to do this is to get people to bring their own meat/vegetarian/vegan/gluten-free favourites to pop on the hot coals. Please do remember to dispose of your smouldering ashes safely and appropriately afterwards.  Most seafronts have designated bins specifically for this type of waste.

Since the clocks changed the days are getting longer.  So by the time the sun sets over Easter it’ll be the perfect time to pull out the deckchairs and crack open a bottle of Easter fizz for the adults. Topped with a comfortable cushion, portable cool boxes full of drinks and chocolate can double up as extra seating if needed. Of course a big benefit of having a beach hut is that things like comfy cushions and cosy throws can be packed up and safely stored rather than having to be taken home.

If you’d like to have the pleasure of having your very own beach hut or you think the time has come to sell yours, get in touch and we’ll give you all the help and advice you need.
